1958 Fender Tweed Vibrolux (not for sale)

Description

sweet - beautiful and super great sounding amp, which I recently received from my nice colleague Sfeffen Brückner. He wrote about this amp: "The little Vibrolux was also the secret star of a big deluxe amp shootout. The amp has just been carefully serviced and tuned by my amp tech Udo Pipper, so that it not only sounds heavenly but also works absolutely reliably and with low background noise. Because, hand on heart, a completely original, 60+ year old amp may delight the collector's heart, but it is a ticking time bomb if you actually want to use it. The electrolytic capacitors dry out over time and the coupling capacitors leak and drift extremely in value, so that it is sometimes only a matter of days before such an amp gives up the ghost. That's why I have my amps extensively serviced, regardless of the cost, to ensure optimum performance and operational reliability while keeping them in the best possible original condition. In this Vibrolux, the electrolytic capacitors were replaced by "state of the art" Sprague models. Almost all Yellow Astron coupling capacitors in the preamp were retained or replaced with NOS models. Only in the tremolo section was a mix of new and sinfully expensive Jupiter Red and NOS disk capacitors used. This allowed the best possible sound to be achieved with optimum noise behavior. The tubes are new and optimally calibrated. The transformers are of course all original. The amp therefore naturally runs on 110v. The original P10R speaker is not reconed and sounds simply heavenly. It has been re-centered by a specialist to ensure operation without mechanical noise. The original tweed cover and grill cloth are well preserved and have developed a charming patina over the decades. The handle is new
